Hello My Friends!
You may be wondering why I have disappeared off the face of internet for the past--long time. I assure you I have a perfectly good explanation: my body has been taken over by an alien. But wait, I have photographic proof! Behold:
Admittedly, it is a very cute alien that we're actually incredibly excited about.
Excitement aside, I have spent the last couple months with my head inside a toilet or on the couch eating saltines while crying hysterically during Disney movies on Netflix. Fortunately, I am getting better and I'm so excited to start putting out blog posts again. I've missed you all!
For today, here's a quick product recommendation.
There aren't a lot of items in my kit that I actually use until they're gone, so it really says something when I start to run out of something. Well, a product that I unexpectedly have just hit the pan on, is this NYX Illuminator in the shade Narcissistic:
I ordered it online when they were having a sale, and when it arrived I was actually disappointed. I typically like highlighters to have very fine shimmer and be in the flesh tone realm. This one seemed to have slightly larger shimmer flecks mixed throughout (in addition to the fine shimmer) and was decidedly peachy gold, more like a blush than a highlighter.
And then, I tried it on. This is the most beautiful highlighter and I use it ALMOST EVERY TIME I DO A MAKEUP ON ANYONE FROM VERY PALE TO MEDIUM SKIN TONES. It's sheer and has this glorious pale gold to peach dimension to it so it works for a larger shade range than most, like Liv Tyler to Jennifer Lopez. I use it as an eyeshadow, dust it along the high points of the cheek bones, on top of blush, on the lips in the cupids bow and center of the bottom lip. It's just straight prettiness. Here's are a couple photos where I used it:
Shout out to my amazing, talented friend Kathy who photographed this image for her bridal accessory business Veiled Beauty-you can view her Etsy shop here.
Doesn't their skin look so beautiful and radiant?
Anyway, I'm so happy to be getting back to real life, and I want to thank you all so much for your patience.
What do you want to hear about next?
I have a few projects in the works for you, but I'd love to hear what you want to learn about!
